3. Basic rules - how to begin

• Every simulation begins in File -> New simulation option in the main menu

• When initial values are accepted, simulation starts after pressing START button in lower left corner of main window

• Similar to the real paper machine, when one wants to begin the paper production, all chests (white water and II water chest at least) must be filled with fresh water first

• Fresh water inlet can be found in a lower left corner of main window. Just double click on the flow meter's databox and enter the proper value (e.g. 1 m³/s will be fine at the beginning)

• Basis weight valve can be opened if wire is running and fresh water circulates in the short loop through the fan pump and the headbox
  

• High consistency stock must flow through the refining system first (it doesn't matter if refiners work or no)
  

• Some elements on the screen are interactive. If any frame of the databox becomes dashed and red under the mouse cursor, double clicking let you change this value. Interactive elements are available only when simulation is in progress
